The TV film, written by Péricles Leal, tells the story of the cangaceiro Emerenciano – the last from Lampião’s bunch – who returns to the city of Soledade to take revenge on the people who arrested him. However, upon his arrival at the city, he meets sweet Rita, played by Letícia Sabatella, in her first role on TV, and gives up on his revenge plan.
Exhibited in 1991, the film was among the 34th New York Television Festival’s finalists. The filming took place in the city of Canindé, in the state of Ceará, and exhibited in 1991. Several locals participated as supporting cast and extras.
